Past Splash Pages

We All Live in a Pokémon World... didn't have a splash page for a long time, but when so many other Pokémon sites started introducing their site using splashes, I wanted one too :)

Who's That Pokémon?! splash

"Who's That Pokémon?!"; 2008-2009
Since it was Pokémon that got me into
"Go, Diego, Go!", I decided to bring the two shows together through fanart; the two boy heroes Ash and Diego are similar in their bravery, kindness, drive, sense of adventure, and of course, love for their non-human companions. Shown side-by-side their partners Pikachu and Baby Jaguar, they're each quick to use their hand-held electronic devices (the Pokédex and Field Journal) to learn more about a new and mysterious creature!

This splash was mainly used with the Dandelions theme, and later with the original version of the Cherry Blossoms theme (with a blue background).

Rain splash

Rain; 2009-early 2010
This touching sequence from the "Pokémon Symphonic Medley" Japanese Advanced Generation opening was a switch to a more serious tone; as Ash finds the comfort and strength only his best friend Pikachu can provide, the scene fit with the ongoing theme of We All Live in a Pokémon World... - finding happiness in the often unforgiving world that surrounds Pokémon. This site also having always been an advocate for the
Pokémon animé, Ash's pain in turn reflects the sad reality of the changing attitudes among the Pokémon fanbase, which began as far back as the Hoenn episodes.

This splash was used with the original version of the Cherry Blossoms theme while it was online in 2009.

Past, Present, Future splash (original verison)

Past, Present, Future (original version); early 2010-early 2011
The quote linking the past, present, and future from Sinnoh Frontier Brain Palmer sets the mood for the entire site; when you first enter, you're brought back the the very beginning with this defining moment between Ash and his beloved Pikachu and the bond that formed in an instant, like a bolt of lightning.

This splash was used with many layouts that share the "Past, Present, and Future" theme including Sky version, Cherry Blossoms version, and "Going Forward", while a slight variation featuring the quote in the background (below) was used after a short time with the current (Pure White version) layout.

Past, Present, Future splash (variation)
