 Battling for Peace
Thank you for reading my thoughts on Pokémon. This site has been online since the height of the Pokémon phenomenon, during which time, Pokémon was met with unwarranted prejudice from even the most unexpected sources. Those who sought to condemn Pokémon for whatever reason, at the least, were merely voicing their opinions on a game, a television show, etc... that they didn't like, and at the most, attempting to destroy one man's dream. But somewhere in between, fans of Pokémon were the ones who endured a majority of these attacks as we watched those we trusted find evil in something we loved, refusing to take the time to learn more about what we easily understood. But as in Pokémon, 'battling' is only a sport, and not means of personal vengeance. And only a small part of what Pokémon is about.
 | That is the purpose of this website. |
Pokémon-haters should ask themselves this: How would you feel if you were a fan? More importantly, what if these were your characters? What if Pokémon was your idea? Your dream? Pokémon was not the first, and will not be the last issue to undergo controversy, but it can serve an example for any number of others. Issues divide people, turning strangers and even friends into enemies.
 | This is not a message conveyed through Pokémon. |
In turn, as Ash once said, "If you're not out making friends, then what's the point?"¹ And unfortunately, I've made just as many enemies as I've made friends because of my interest in Pokémon. But instead of fighting, I have always believed that education and truth is the best way to close the gap. If I can reach even one parent, teacher, or critic on "the other side", my site will have served its purpose, which is why I welcome both supporters and opposers of Pokémon to not only read my page, but to read it together. It is your mediator. Today, the craze and the controversy might very well be over, but it's never too late to make peace. --Kimberly (RageOfInnocence)
