We All Live in a Pokémon World... has been online since 2000, and since then, the few layouts it's had have always been simple, all made by hand with basic HTML, allowing the focus to always be on site's content.

Original purple layout

Original; 2000-2006
When We All Live in a Pokémon World... first went online in 2000, it was just a one-page section of my homepage. The cute image of Pikachu was scanned from the Pikachu mousepad package (one of the few Pokémon collectibles I had at the time) and the purple silhouette background and logo were borrowed from the official Pokémon website. The theme continued as the site grew, with more pages being added and changing to a three column layout (not shown; files no longer exist), then soon carried over into the next style and used ever since.

Dandelions layout

Dandelions; 2006-early 2009
This theme has always been my favorite with the gorgeous screenshot that illustrates the love between Ash and Pikachu from the beautiful Japanese Advanced Generation ending "Soko ni Sora ga Aru Kara"; I remember trying to integrate the new graphic into the purple background but it did not work, so I changed the colors to match; adding to the challenge was making sure the colored text that represented the various eras in which new content was added could still be easily read.

Years into this layout's use, the site's first splash "Who's that Pokémon?!" was introduced.

Cherry Blossoms layout

Cherry Blossoms (Original Version); 2009
While I didn't want to (ever) take down the last theme, it was time for something new in the Diamond & Pearl era, but some things never change like the bond between Ash and his beloved Pikachu in this adorable screenshot from the Japanese DP ending "Kaze no Message"; this time, the columns were neater and the site made more narrow, all in blue, and with the cherry blossoms carried over into the background image, better for my computer's wide screen. The Classic Ribbon was added to the theme along side my original Pokémon Peace and Support Ribbon, proclaiming love for Pokémon.

Following the new color scheme, the "Rain" splash, was paired with this layout, and soon also corresponded with the changing times

Past, Present, Future (Version One) layout

Past, Present, Future (Sky Version); late 2009-early 2010
This theme actually took the place of the original Cherry Blossoms layout while it was being updated to fit the new "Past, Present, and Future" theme, referring to both Pokémon and We All Live in a Pokémon World... as the site celebrated its tenth anniversary. It was made rather quickly with a screenshot of from the Diamond and Pearl opening "High Touch!" (Japan)/"Stand Up!" (U.S.) and the muted black silhouette featuring all 493 Pokémon; while I love the enthusiasm in the faces of Ash, Brock, and Dawn, there was one thing missing...Pokémon :\

This theme also shared the original "Past, Present, and Future" splash, but the splash was always a better fit for the Cherry Blossoms theme (reintroduced in early 2010) - another favorite - showing how far the relationship between Ash and his beloved Pikachu has come.

Past, Present, Future layout (Cherry Blossoms version)

Past, Present, Future (Cherry Blossoms Version); 2010
A variation of the original Cherry Blossoms layout, this newer version continued with the "Past, Present, and Future" theme, which showed the present being
Ash's Sinnoh journey, which has been by far my favorite of all the Pokémon animé series so far. But as Ash and Pikachu head to the Unova (Jap: Isshu) region in the upcoming Black & White (Jap: "Best Wishes!") series, it was time to focus on the future, inspiring the site's next header: "Going Forward".

Of course, when you first enter the site, you begin with the past, featuring the first episode in Ash's Kanto journey with the original "Past, Present, and Future" splash.

Past, Present, Future layout ('Going Forward')

Past, Present, Future ("Going Forward"); September 2010-February 2011
Big changes were ahead as Ash and Pikachu set out toward the brand new Unova region in the era of Pokémon Black and White. A new beginning in a faraway land brings new friends, new Pokémon, new challenges...and those big, beautiful brown eyes... But some things will never change, including the bond between our hero and his beloved Pokémon partner. And while remaining focused on what's to come, it's just as important to remember that the site's theme of "Past, Present, and Future" means exactly that with the next layout:
"Forever Ash".

Ever true to his Kanto roots, it always comes back to Ash and Pikachu's first adventure, paired with the original "Past, Present, and Future" splash.

Past, Present, Future layout ('Forever Ash')

Past, Present, Future ("Forever Ash"); February 2011-March 2011
This header temporarily replaced the Black & White era-only theme that came a little too quickly, instead celebrating the Pokémon animé in its entirety and our hero whose journey around which it has always centered, Ash. From his home in Kanto, though Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, on to Unova, and every place in between, this site has followed and supported Ash and Pikachu since the very beginning, and this expression, if nothing else, was just to give me a few more weeks until I was truly ready to welcome the future with the same enthusiasm as Ash always does...and forever treasure the past.

This was the first theme to use a variation of the "Past, Present, and Future" splash.
