Kimberly's My Marissa: Home Again in Oak Branch Woods

I met my husband, Alan, in 1998, two years after the "Heartbeat City" first went online. At the time, there was a feature that allowed visitors to fill out a survey. When I read Alan's, I had discovered I'd met a Cars fan close to home and the rest is history. At our wedding, in honor of the unique way in which Alan and I met, a special Cars-inspired poem was included as part of our ceremony to both the surprise and delight of us and our guests.--Kim

Poem by Cantor Marci Vitkus

In the beginning, Kim and Alan used to hang out at their own NIGHTSPOTS. The love life wasn't really happening...what: I mean is that there was no HEARTBEAT CITY. Alan thought, "I could sure use some MAGIC!" and Kim was off LOOKING FOR LOVE, thinking IT'S NOT THE NIGHT. Kim was particularly worried about meeting a DANGEROUS TYPE or worse yet, a COOL FOOL.

But as fate would have it, the two didn't take the DRIVE that night. Instead Alan sought solace in a website about THE CARS, and he filled out the survey. "This is JUST WHAT I NEEDED" thought Alan.

Kim, noting the NJ address, contacted Alan. "HELLO AGAIN", she replied. And a friendship was born. In fact she said, "Would you be the best friend and I'll be your BEST FRIEND'S GIRL?" Alan knew without a doubt whether he should LEAVE OR STAY.

"TAKE ME NOW, CANDY-O! I REFUSE to believe that I AM NOT THE ONE!" And Kim responded with "SHAKE IT UP and "LET'S GO!"

And now my friends, it is time to let the GOOD TIMES ROLL.
