Heartbeat City Video Album

The first compilation of the Cars' hits to be released was actually a collection of their videos called the "Heartbeat City" video album. It was released at the same time as the Heartbeat City album and includes eight of their most popular videos. It contains footage from videos not shown on television as well as a documentary and interviews, including a conversation between Ric Ocasek and Andy Warhol. As far as I know, the videos album was only available on VHS and later on laser disc. I'm not sure if it is still available through special order, but it has not yet been released on DVD.

The Cars: Live 1984-1885

Consisting of songs from their first five albums, The Cars: Live 1984-1885 contains excerpts from their U.S. Heartbeat City Tour. This concert collection is most known for the Cars performing Ric Ocasek's 1982 solo single "Jimmy Jimmy." I do not believe it was ever re-released.

The Cars Live: Musikladen 1979

Taken from the Cars' only European tour, this concert recorded at Radio Breman studios in Germany was finally released on VHS and DVD in 2000. It contains songs from only the first two albums, but also included is the rare non-album track "Take What You Want". The concert itself is on both recordings, however, only the DVD contains an exclusive 2000 interview with all five members of the Cars. Their first appearance together in over a decade, it's also the last interview with the late Benjamin Orr. checkered flag
