Pony Point
Like the Horseshoe Points on the original My Little Pony packages, the new My Little Pony boxes feature points that can be redeemed for premium offers. Pony Points can even be found in unusual places like MLP books or other novelty items. Points range in value from 1 (on books) to, so far, 12 (on the Celebration Castle). This MLP generation is directed to their official website www.mylittlepony.com where order forms can be printed out. Below are the items offered in the Point Program.

Dazzle Surprise

Dazzle Surprise

Dazzle Surprise is the first pony offered in the Points Program. She loves celebrations and brings happiness to your pony parties. Dazzle Surprise has a pearly pink body with light pink, dark pink, and dark purple hair. Her mane divides these colors into several vertical streaks while her tail is a mix of the three, with stands of iridescent tinsel in both. Her symbol (left side) is two dark pink springs with yellow and purple sparkles; the entire Cutie Mark is coated with a layer of iridescent glitter. She has light sea green eyes with a pale yellow green highlight and pink heart. The heart on her left hoof is two shades of pink (one paler than the other).
Dazzle Surprise is one of four items in the first set of Pony Points Program offers. She was free with 16 points.

"A Charming Birthday" video

'A Charming Birthday' video
Razzaroo's Birthday Book
When this video was first offered (Summer 2003), it was only available through the Pony Points program, free with 8 points. A few weeks later, it was included on on the packages of some of the earlier ponies, including the Rainbow Celebration Ponies and Glitter Celebration Ponies as new ponies were introduced, and then sold on its own for approx. $10 in stores. The box containing the video is marked "Free video with the purchase of My Little Pony figure", despite the other methods of acquiring it.

This 20 minute episode offers us the first look at our new pony friends; narrated by Razzaroo (with her signature "Yes, yes, yes!" affirmation), the Little Ponies try to plan a surprise birthday party for wise Kimono, something they have never been able to do. As they plan to replace Kimono's lost charm bracelet, each pony comes up with a charm Kimono's charm bracelet (rather than a separate bracelet from each pony) that will remind Kimono of each of her friends. Wysteria wants flowers. Sweetberry wants berries. Pinkie Pie wants balloons. Rainbow Dash (who sounds like a cross between original MLP Heart Throb and Days of Our Lives' Celeste) wants "rainbows, darling, rainbows!" Sparkleworks wants sparkles. Sunny Daze wants sunbeams. Cotton Candy, of course, wants Cotton Candy. And Minty, as always, wants something green. But their charms are way too big to be a part of a bracelet and they decide to make a giant decorating floating from the Celebration Castle to greet Kimono for her birthday surprise (plus a smaller bracelet she can wear), and surprised, for the first time, she was! The story closes with the original instrumental "My Little Pony, My Little Pony" theme.

Ponyville Playmat

Ponyville Playmat (shown with playsets)

This large, colorful paper playmat illustrates the setting of Ponyville, home of the '03 Little Ponies. Available only though the Points Program, the mat was free with 12 points. It is set up with areas designed to fit three MLP playsets: The Celebration Castle (including a landing pad for the hot air balloon), Cotton Candy Café, and the Celebration Salon (not shown). Each corner that holds a playset has a checkerboard floor, to match the floor of each building; this is especially true with the blue and white pattern that continues behind the castle, with the mat creating the interior floor. Pink and white squares become the floor of the café and purple and while checks are the salon's floor. The surrounding Ponyville area contain green grass and flowers, a river with a bridge, and rainbow colored cobblestone path with the My Little Pony heart logo in the center.

Friendship Bracelet

Friendship bracelet

This MLP friendship bracelet is made up of multicolored translucent beads on a stretchable band. It has three attached translucent heart-shaped charms including a small blue charm with a green flower, a small pink charm with a blue butterfly. In the center is one large orange charm with a blue pony w/pink hair, surrounded by colorful flowers and the word 'Pony' written in fancy lettering. This charm bracelet was free with 4 Pony Points, and is NOT the same bracelet that came in marked MLP packages.

Sun Shimmer

Sun Shimmer

Sunshimmer, available in 2004, is the second pony offered in the Points Program and added to the set of other three available items (listed above), also unintentionally replacing Dazzle Surprise who quickly sold out. Sunshimmer was free with 16 points, and seems to be the fourth Jewel Pony in the second set of (only) three Jewel Ponies. Sunshimmer, who is up early every morning to watch the sun rise, has a pearly yellow body with bright red and bright orange hair. Her mane divides these colors into several vertical streaks while her tail is a mix of the two. Her Cutie Mark (left side) is a round orange jewel with a pink border and wavy pink & yellow rays, creating a sun. She has light purple eyes with a two-tone blue highlight and yellow heart. The heart on her right hoof is light red.

Charm Bracelet

Charm bracelet

The second bracelet to be offered in the Points Program, available in early 2005, this one had jumped in 'price' by 125%, 'free' with 10 Points compared to a mere 4 points for the first Friendship Bracelet. This MLP charm bracelet is a very small pink bangle with a flower-shaped closure and two charms similar to those that came with the early 2003 ponies. These charms, however, have no glitter in them, just transparent colored ponies with a rainbow hook. The two on my bracelet are dark pink and dark purple. They are shown as different colors on Hasbro's site...did anyone receive a bracelet with different colored charms? If there's room on your wrist, you could add more that you may have. It also makes a nice necklace for an adult pony.

Love Wishes

Love Wishes

Love Wishes, available in early 2005, is the third pony offered in the Points Program. The most 'expensive' pony yet, she was 'free' with 24 points, a 50% increase from Dazzle Surprise and Sun Shimmer. Love Wishes is a Sparkle Pony, however, there is a pony mentioned in the 2004-05 Perfectly Pony set as "also available", presumably a store exclusive. I have not seen a pony with this name or other (not pictured) ponies in this set as of late February 2005. Love Wishes, who knows every way to wish, has a pearly greyish-blue body with bright red with iridescent tinsel. Her Cutie Mark (right side) is a an open envelope with two letters, the one in front has blue writing on it and a pink heart. She has light purple eyes with a coral highlight and blue heart. The heart on her left hoof is pink. being a Sparkle Pony, she has iridescent glitter on her nose & forehead and covering her Cutie Mark.
