Friendship Gardens CD-ROM Virtual Pet Ponies (page 1) |

Your Oak Branch Woods purchase helps keep Dream Valley online--thank you!

If you've ever played with a virtual pets program like Catz or Dogz, then you know how amazing it is to have a pet living on your computer screen. Now, you can raise your own little pony and care for her as she grows up. Your pony lives on the farm, but eventually, she will become brave enough to venture over into Pony Village with the other Little Ponies and then disappear over the rainbow for more adventure.
The Pony Book:
When you begin playing, the Butterfly will guide you though every step. Once you have signed in with your name and birthday, you can create your pony. Her life will begin in the Pony Book where you will give her a name and color her any way you like (these ponies have no symbols). Each player can save up to four ponies at a time; each pony will have her own Pet Certificate which includes all her info and can change her colors at anytime. Each page of the Pony Book holds different information. In the Diary, the Butterfly tells of the adventures she and your pony have had. If you pony completes all three levels of jumps, she will receive a Jumping Certificate on another page. You can also take snapshots of your pony in the book. And finally, the letters you receive from the ponies (from your mailbox) are also stored in the book.
Taking Care of Your Pony:
In order to take good care of your virtual pony, you are given a collection of supplies you will need. The Supply Shelf is located at the bottom of the screen underneath the map of Ponyland. You pony's mood and health is determined by the rainbow in the background of the supplyshelf. The brighter and more complete the rainbow is, the happier and healthier your pony is. However, as the rainbow starts to fade, you pony may begin to feel tired, unhappy, or ill. She may want to be fed, or have a drink, or be brushed. Sometimes it's hard to tell what your pony wants, by clicking the Butterfly, she will tell you what your pony needs in order to feel her best. Also, in the supply shelf, you can take pictures of your pony by clicking on the camera. These photos will appear in the Pony Book. There is also icon of the Pony Book in the supply shelf which will take you to it when clicked.
You pony likes to eat a variety of foods including pizza, cupcakes, and lollipops. There are four pieces of each type of food. To feed her, just click on the food and place it either in front of your pony or elsewhere on the ground. Sometimes you can use food to get your pony to come when you call her. When your pony had eaten them all, you must grow new food for her from seeds in the garden. When planting, be sure to place the scarecrow in the ground, or else the crows will eat all the seeds and you will have to plant them again. Once the food has grown, you can pick it and it will be transferred to your supply shelf. After eating, you pony will be thirsty. You can give her a drink from her juicebox which is full each time you click on it.
Sometimes, your pony will enjoy a special treat - a red apple from the supply shelf. Sometimes an apple will make your pony happy when she is feeling sad. When your pony has eaten all four apples, you can pick more from the apple tree. However, sometimes instead of being able to harvest four more red apples, you may have to pick a green apple. You pony will want to eat the green apple, but be careful, because it can make her sick.
To make her better, you must give her medicine from the bottle. This medicine also works for a tummy ache that your pony could get from eating too much food. She won't like taking it, but she will feel better afterward.
Sometimes, your pony wants a little attention and the best way to give it to her is to brush her hair. Just click on the brush and then on your pony, and the brush magically grooms her mane. Brushing your pony cam also bring her mood up when she's feeling down. It's also a good reward for when she completes a jump.
