With numerous sets of new ponies being introduced in the second half of 2004, some appearing in booklets, some not, this page will continue on into 2005 (Friendship Ball ponies and Butterfly Island will be on separate pages.)

The 2004-05 MLP page is incomplete until furter notice.

Super Long Hair

Sparklesnap
I'm not sure if Toys R Us exclusive Sparklesnap is part of the set of ponies with Super-long hair that includes Silly Sunshine and Silver Song (pictured in the early 2004 Friendship Ball booklet, but whom I did not see in stores until January 2005 in limited quantities) or the later set including Dream Blue and Rainbowberry (featured in the Butterfly Island booklet, and have been seen in a few stores including Kmart in late 2004). Both sets, as well as Sparklesnap, are packaged in boxes, rather than on cards, like the earlier super long hair ponies, but come with similar accessories including two barrettes (one with white iridescent ribbons, the other with multi-colored ribbons), tiara, and brush.
Life-of-the-party Sparklesnap has a pearly yellow body with dark pink & white hair. Her Cutie Mark (right hip) is a large, pink 6-sided sparkle with a blue swirl, surrounded by small blue & white sparkles. Her heart (right hoof) is blue. She has yellow-green eyes with a blue highlight and yellow star. Sparklesnap's barrettes are blue star-shapes on a yellow base, with the colored ribbons being yellow, blue & pink. Her tiara is blue and her brush (raised bow design) is yellow.
Ponyville's best singer, Silver Song has a pearly pink body with fuschia hair (with iridescent tinsel). Her Cutie Mark (left hip) is a two masks...one happy (orange), one sad (yellow) in front of a purple music staff with a G-clef and notes. Her heart (left hoof) is purple (normal size), surrounded by stars and notes. She has light orange eyes with double beige & gold highlights and dark pink star. Silver
Super Long Hair
Song's barrette (only one, unlike Sparklesnap) is a pink star-shape on a purple base, with yellow, pink, and orange ribbons. Her tiara is purple and her brush (raised bow design) is pink. Silver Song's box is marked "Super-long hair assortment", the first indication of a group name for any of these ponies on a package.
Silly Sunshine, who loves to tell funny stories, has a white (non-pearly) body with white, yellow, and bright pink hair. Her Cutie Mark (right hip) is a three daisies (green stems and some with missing petals) as well as an orange butterfly (purple-outlined). There's also a background of large pink circles (dark & light) and smaller orange and pink dots. Her heart (right hoof) is smaller than normal size, pink and with a daisy and loose petals on each side. She has light purple eyes with double medium pink & coral highlights and yellow heart. Silly Sunshine's barrette is a pink flower-shape on a light green base with purple, dark pink, and light green ribbons. Her tiara is pink and her brush (raised bow design) is white. Silly Sunshine's box (like Silver Song) is marked "Super-long hair assortment", an indication of a group name for any of these ponies on a package. I didn't find her until October 2005, in a store hours away from where I live; I have never seen her in my area.

My Little Pony 4-pack (Toys R Us)

My Little Pony 4-pack
This Toys R Us exclusive set of four ponies was definitely worth getting to the store before noon on Black Friday 2004 for its half-price Doorbuster deal. Regularly priced at $19.99, it includes four very different ponies (except that they all have two colors in their hair), each with her own brush boxed (with raised bow design) together with pictured and descriptions on the back. However, it is worth a mere 4 Pony Points.

My Little Pony 4-pack

Flutterbutter, who wishes she could fly, has a white (non-pearly) body with gold & yellow hair. Her Cutie Mark (right hip) is two feathered wings (purple and gold), surrounded by pink & purple motion streaks, tiny blue stars and pink dots. Her eyes are light blue with lavender highlights and pink hearts. Her heart (left hoof) is pink and her brush is white.
Silly, laughing Princess Peppermint has a pearly, reddish-pink body with bright red & white hair. Her Cutie Mark (left hip) is a white crown (with a spiral mint on top) above two crossed white-striped peppermint sticks. Her eyes are aqua with pink highlights and white stars. Her heart (left hoof) is white and her brush is pink.
Beach-loving Tropical Delight has a pearly, light purple body with blue & light green hair. Her Cutie Mark (right hip) is two pink tropical flowers (light and dark) with green & yellow leaves/centers. Her eyes are dark magenta with blue highlights and pale yellow hearts. Her heart (left hoof) is dark pink and her brush is light purple.
Banjo-playing Banjo Blue has a pearly aqua body with pink & magenta hair. Her Cutie Mark (left hip) is a blue/yellow/pink on a white wavy music staff with purple notes. Her eyes are medium blue with yellow-green highlights and light pink hearts. Her heart (left hoof) is medium blue and her brush is aqua blue.

Pick-a-Lilly & Sunny Salsa (KB)

Pick-a-Lilly & Sunny Salsa (case)
These two special ponies, in a set exclusive to KB stores, have two fun features, whereas other ponies have either one or the other. Both Pick-a-Lilly and Sunny Salsa have super-long manes and tails as well as pretty pony fashions. They come in a clear, heart-shaped vinyl backpack with purple handles and white heart pull. Released at a time when some KB stores were going out of business, the set could be picked up for at least 30% below the regular $14.99 at those locations. Each pony comes with a brush (w/raised bow design) and the set is worth 6 Pony Points.
Pick-a-Lilly & Sunny Salsa (pretty pony fashions)

Pick-a-Lilly, who loves to dress up, has a pearly light pink body. Her mane is divided into three large sections of coral, yellow, and green, but her tail is solid green. Her Cutie Mark (left hip) is a yellow-outlined lily with orange & pink inside and light green stem. Her eyes are yellow-green with lighter yellow-green highlights and yellow dots. Her heart (right hoof) is dark pink and her brush is light pink. Pick-a-Lilly is wearing a vinyl yellow raincoat and matching hat.
Partier Sunny Salsa has a pearly, orange body with dark purple & dark pink hair. Her Cutie Mark (right hip) is a flower with a dark pink spiral center and blue & white petals encircled in blue, white, and dark pink curves. Her eyes are blue with lighter: blue highlights and yellow dots. Her heart (left hoof) is blue and her brush is orange. Sunny Salsa is wearing a light pink tiara and fuchisa mesh tutu.

PC Play Pack with Sparkleberry Swirl

PC Play Pack with Sparkleberry Swirl

This computer game was first introduced on Hasbro's My Little Pony site in May 2004. First, there was a poll to vote for the name of the special baby pony who would come exclusively with the game (pack is worth 8 Pony Points). The three choices included Baby Starberry, Sweetie-Belle, and the winning name Sparkleberry Swirl. She is arriving in Ponyville just in time for the Friendship Ball and your job is to help the adult ponies get ready for the big event. The game includes ponies as early as Rainbow Dash (who introduces the story) to Butterfly Island's Scooter Sprite (one of the ponies you can help get ready by finding their lost objects). You play as either Pinkie Pie, Sunny Daze, Skywishes, or Sparkleworks as you follow a checklist to make invitations, choose a hair-do and outfit (featured Rainbow Dash on the downloadable demo) at the Celebration Salon, bake and decorate cakes with Cotton Candy, and help Twinkle Twirl choreograph a dance (similar to the Dance Studio activity on Hasbro's site). When you're ready, the Celebration Castle gates open and the only thing left to do is decorate and then the ball begins! In between, there's other fun things to do, including decorating your pony's cottage and clicking on different creatures including new pony Fizzy Pop who balances objects on her nose and a squirrel who has occasionally been seen stuffing an entire burger into its mouth! Other activities can be done on or away from the computer with printable coloring pages, cake recipes, read letters from ponies, and send and print the pictures you take of any scene in the game. At the end of the game, you can even get your pony's picture taken with Star Catcher! Screen shots coming soon!
Sparkleberry Swirl has a pearly pink body with dark pink & dark purple hair (mine is very curly!). Her Cutie Mark (left hip) is a dark pink & dark purple swirl with yellow stars on top. Her heart (left hoof) is dark pink. She has yellow-green eyes with a lighter yellow-green highlight and dark pink dots.

Sunshower & Luau

Sunshower & Luau
First appearing in limited stores in late 2004 (Wal-Mart, Toys R Us), this carry case with two ponies Sunshower and Luau were still available well into 2005 (a great find on Toys R Us' 50% Green Tag sale @ $4.99!) They come in a pink/clear vinyl case with pink fabric handles that is large enough for even more ponies after removing the plastic mold. Unlike other bag set, this one only comes with ponies, and one brush (raised flower) each as their only accessories. This set is worth 4 Pony Points.
Sunshower & Luau

Sunshower, who plays outside rain or shine, has a pearly purple body with blue, pink, and white hair. Her Cutie Mark (left hip) is an orange sun with white/pink/dark pink rays partially behind a light pink (blue-outlined) rain cloud. Her heart (left hoof) is light pink. She has blue eyes with a light blue highlight and light orange stars. Her brush is light purple.
Luau, who loves Summer, has a pearly pink body with pink, medium pink, coral, and white hair. Her Cutie Mark (right hip) is a white tropical flower with a dark pink center, orange piston and two-tone green leaves. Her heart (left hoof) is medium green. She has dark green eyes with a sea green highlight and light orange stars. Her brush is pink.

Sweet Reflections Dress Shop (Sam's Club)

Sweet Reflections Dress Shop
I don't know much about this playset, only that it was not widely distributed in the United States and, according to collectors, was a Sam's Club exclusive for Christmas 2004. It came with four ponies, including two new ponies (Goodie Goodie & Darling Dahlia) and two reissued ponies (Periwinkle & Skywishes). I have seen photos of this playset (sorry, none available) and the building is actually the same as the Cotton Candy Cafe, only in different colors, with different accessories appropriate for a dress shop (it's the Brush Me Beautiful Boutique and Kitchen all over again! [both are variations on the original Pretty Parlor playset]). The variations include a blue front (dark pink cafe), purple (pink cafe) & white striped awning, light purple railing (pinkish-purple cafe), etc. Each of the four ponies is also wearing an outfit, some noted below. See pics for all other details (thanks for Simmone Clay).
Goodie Goodie has a pearly turquoise body with yellow, white, and pale yellow hair . Her Cutie Mark (right hip) is yellow & pink mirror tied with dark pink ribbon, surrounded by turquoise, orange, and light green flowers. Her heart (right hoof) is light yellow-green. She has yellow-green eyes with yellow highlights and white stars. Goodie Goodie is wearing a light-and-dark blue floral printed skirt and a blue-and-white gingham hair bow with an embroidered yellow-and-blue flower center.
Darling Dahlia has a pearly yellow body with white, gold, and aqua hair. Her Cutie Mark (left hip) is flower bouquet (light & dark pink with sea green leaves), tied with dark pink bow. Her heart (left hoof) is sea green. She has dark green eyes with yellow highlights and pink stars. Darling Dahlia is wearing a sea green cape with white polka dots (elastic on end).
